Early this morning, one of the most gifted and amazing women that I have ever known decided it was time to sing with the angels. Not only was my Nana an amazing woman, but she was a role model for me as a single parent. She had been single since my mother was 7 years old, not because she lost her husband…but because she wanted to be single. Not many black women were running around divorcing their husbands in the 40′s…it just wasn’t done.
She taught me many beauty secrets, gave me infinite amounts of wisdom on varying subjects and taught me tolerance. I know she is up in heaven right now polishing the pearly gates (she hated clutter…) and making everyone laugh. Although I miss her terribly already, I know that she is still with me…
Stay Pretty…
