FOTD: MAC Matte Squared + Paint Pot…

macpaintpotmattesquared 300x257 FOTD: MAC Matte Squared + Paint Pot...Okay…this worked MUCH better.  I actually applied paint pot (which is like a creamy pigment) first, then Matte Squared and the color just grabbed on.

The trick with using any shadow for longevity purposes as well as getting the color to pop is to have a good base underneath.  Sometimes concealer will work but more often than not, the consistency is too creamy to actually adhere to the delicate skin of the eyelid making for a bit of a mess as the day (or night) wears on.  Paint pots are amazing, because they are creamy but not so creamy that they slide.  I used these at a wedding and it worked wonders, everyone told me that their eyemakeup was good all night long.  I am using a color combo that you don’t see too much on brunettes with dark eyes, green.  It can be really pretty if you use the right color
combos.

Just wanted to make you aware of the MAC Boycott by professional freelance artists. For years MAC has been strong-arming their way into even more backstage shows as sponsors. In return they supply designers of shows, concerts, tv shows, films, and even broadway shows with FREE makeup artists. All of this just so they can continue to dominate backstage and receive free advertisement for their products. The below link is from the president of Local 798 makeup artist union to a rep for MAC Cosmetics which addresses this issue and in turn gives their support to the Boycott. Even SAG is in support of this Boycott because MAC is breaking union rules – not to mention taking jobs from the freelance artists who gave them their name.

Thanks for the info – but this is a website for those that love makeup and beauty products. Not one for union makeup artists to air their grudges and grievances, I have removed your link. Thanks!
