If you were watching the Democratic National Convention this week, you saw Michelle Obama’s hair which looked more shiny and swingy than EVER. Which prompted me to think, “Has Michelle started going to a Dominican salon??” (Brown girls know the virtues of the Dominican Salon, and if you don’t know…you betta ask somebody!) Hmmmm…I was intrigued. Not because her hair looked bad before, but because it looked so much BETTER. She totally stepped her game up. I started poking around online and found a fantastic interview by Bella Sugar with her Hairstylist, Johnny Wright of Frederick Fekkai.
Johnny flat irons her hair under with a ceramic iron and then uses shea butter based products to keep her hair shiny and moisturized. Johnny said, “I use the Shea Butter conditioner from Fekkai and Glossing Cream. It really keeps the hair moisturized. Also the Fekkai Coiff Anti-Frizz creme is excellent for de-frizzing. It’s probably one of my favorite products.”
Making a note to get to Sephora and pick those two products up to give them a test drive!
