Designer Lela Rose drew inspiration from the rainforest for her Fall 2009 collection, Stila makeup artist Tina Turnbow followed suit creating a watery mix of shimmery golds & greens. “I created a shimmery green eye that almost looks wet, like you’d imagine dew drops on leaves in the rainforest,” To get the look, first she used the Stila Precious Pearl Palette that has shimmery gold and green shadows, then layered on the Stila Constellation Shadow to give it extra shimmer. I am loving how green shadow is making a comeback..it really does look pretty on any skintone – as was seen on the runway here. They used all the same shadows no matter what skin tone the model had.
Hair stylist Ted Gibson followed suit and created long, tousled ponytails with a slight pouf at the crown, referencing the horned back of a beetle. When I spoke to Ted at Vena Cava the other day he told me that the look was going to be all about the forest and insects the look was elegant but still edgy.
