Ormonde Jayne is a small niche perfumery in London run by its creator, Linda Pilkington. These gorgeous fragrances are a must if you are looking for a scent that is unique and different. The perfumes are only available through mail order and of course at the Bond Street store in London BUT let me tell you if you are a perfume lover, you will not be disappointed so it’s worth the extra hoops you have to jump through to get your hands on it.
The best bet is to try the sample program, which is what I have (all fragrance houses should follow suit, it really is fab). The sample program is really just a beautiful black velvet box (fabulous packaging) consisting of all 11 perfumes decanted into mini sprays at an Eau de Parfum strength. All are deluxe size samples and will definitely give you a feel for the fragrance without you having to drop the money on a full sized bottle. This way, you are free to try and mix/match to your heart’s content! They also have free shipping worldwide! Who doesn’t love that?
My faves:
Frangipani – frangipani, jasmine and tuberose absolutes, elevated with plum, water lilies and green orchid oil. The scent has great foundations and architecture, the notes are soft, captivating and unforgettable.
Sampquita – Literally translated as "I Promise You", Sampaquita together with a dusky floral heart of sampaquita absolute, freesia and muguet, combine to form a fusillade of fabulous intensity. An inspired quartet of base notes, musk, vetiver, moss and ambrette seed, unify and harmonise this yummyl summer scent.
Champaca - Related to the magnolia and deemed sacred in the Indus Valley, Champaca flower absolute is a heavenly, creamy floral scent – both elegant and intimate. Blended with neroli pink pepper and bamboo and underscored with fragrant rice and green tea notes, this is a distinguished perfume of rare beauty.
