This is most definitely drugstore diva worthy! I had the opportunity to cover the launch of Sunsilk’s new and improved line of hair products for Lianne and I jumped at the chance! Sunsilk is getting a makeover and you get to see it here first! Superstar hair-god Teddy Charles has been enlisted to help co-create Sunsilk’s new spring product range, which includes formula and packaging updates to preexisting best sellers like Daring Volume, ThermaShine, and Hydra TLC.
After attending the launch of the new Sunsilk line, co-created by Teddy Charles…I have to come to several conclusions:
1. Teddy Charles and his team are amazing at what they do.
2. The new Sunsilk products are fantastic! Not only do they smell great, but the Hydra-TLC products are my new best friends.
3. Did I mention Teddy Charles is extremely attractive and has an irresistible French accent?
When I walked in I felt like I was backstage at fashion week! There were lighted mirrors, models seated in every chair, hair stylists and makeup artists running about and pictures being taken every time I turned. And that was exactly the point. Teddy doesn’t have a salon here in NYC, he and his team work exclusively backstage at fashion shows!
The only things that could have made it anymore authentic would’ve been naked models running around and a manicurist running from model-to-model polishing fingernails! Oh, and those “models” being prepped were actually my fellow bloggers, but by the time we left, we definitely all looked like models!
After chatting with the Sunsilk team, Teddy’s team tackled my tresses! As instructed by the invitation, I arrived with freshly washed hair, that I tossed into a loose bun (hey, it’s hard to look chic with wet hair!) My stylist used the Hydra-TLC styling cream and worked her magic (definitely my new favorite product.) I was treated to one of the most gorgeous blowouts I’ve ever had, while talking to my stylist, who you would’ve otherwise thought was my best friend if you didn’t know any better!
Next I was introduced to Teddy, who besides being a hair-god, is a very attractive guy, and has the most amazing French accent ever! (Did i say that already??) I was so smitten that I had a hard time finding words! After complimenting everything from my hair color, to the blowout I had just received, to telling me how beautiful my skin was, (I had to say “thank you” about thirty times) I finally got a chance to ask him about his involvement in creating the line! Teddy told me he was extremely hands-on in the process of recreating the Sunsilk line and wanted to be there every step of the way. From choosing the fragrances, to determining the viscosity of each product (its thickness) and making sure the products actually do what they claim to do. Teddy was there—with the dorky chemistry goggles, white lab coat and all!
I had my makeup done next, which was total treat, since I’m one of those girls who’s all about tinted moisturizer, chapstick and making mascara go a long way! I got a smoky eye and bright red lips! I felt like a glamorous 1940’s movie star with my beautiful blowout and bright red lips, and it was on to the photographer!
On site, was Ana Schechter of AnaPhoto, for our post-Teddy Charles’ team “glamour shots”! Ana is a talented photographer who can make anyone feel like a natural! I can’t wait to see the shots she took of everyone and I can’t wait to work with her again!
And with that, I was off to meet a friend for dinner. Not only did I have a total blast, but I must’ve really looked good and I’ll tell you why: my cab driver asked if I was a model! So thank you, Teddy Charles, I am now loyal to Sunsilk because your new creation is so amazing that it apparently helps me to look like a model.
As soon as I get the glamour shots, I promise to get one up here so you can see my new look; I didn’t think to take one of myself!
