Think Pink: Estée Lauder Kicks off Their Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign…

While I was in NYC last week, I had the opportunity to sit down with Estée Lauder Ambassadress Elizabeth Hurley and Evelyn Lauder to find out about what’s new with the BCA offerings this year.  Elizabeth said that she and Evelyn “fight” over who get’s to do the lipsticks and who gets to do the lipglosses every year (they are both really cute and total collectors items).  I must say, it was really cool to see how close the two of them were, they were like old friends gossiping.  Elizabeth also said that her grandmother was a breast cancer victim which is why she toils so tirelessly on behalf of the campaign.  She is committed to getting the word out everywhere.

The initiative this year is bold and provocative….the theme is: Connect. Communicate. Conquer.  Prevent Breast Cancer. One Woman at a Time.  Wear It. Share It. The Pink Ribbon. This new campaign draws its inspiration from Mrs. Estée Lauder’s “High-Touch” method of reaching consumers through “Telephone, Telegraph, Tell-A-Woman.” Their approach to conquering breast cancer reinterprets this powerful messaging into a philanthropic mission for today’s modern and fast-paced culture.

In celebration of this message, 10 high profile bloggers took the pledge to conquer breast cancer by covering their naked breast with their right hand, illustrating this message. To see the blogger portraits, visit the campaign on their Facebook page, where you can also connect with BCA Pledge for exclusive content on Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr.
