TheFashionGirl: Neiman Marcus Last Call Studio…

Firstly, let me apologize profusely for my absence but I have been busy making a few minor and MAJOR changes on TheMakeupGirl.  The first thing you may notice is the new layout, it is designed to be easier to navigate for you!  Secondly, I have started a new column here on TMG called TheFashionGirl.  I cover so many fashion related events to get the backstage makeup looks for you, it seemed natural to show you some fun shopping and behind the scenes stuff as well.  Hope you like it!!  To kick things off, let’s talk about the new shopping mecca that is Neiman Marcus Last Call Studio!

I had the opportunity to have a sneak peak at the Rockville Pike store here in DC today…In a word, AMAZING.  This isn’t a liquidation center like the Last Call you will see at the outlet malls.  This is a new concept, where you get on trend current season items deeply discounted.  PLUS they get new stuff weekly, so it’s best to check back often.   Both the new stores and will have almost identical product chosen specifically for Last Call and will provide an easy, organized environment for the customer to enjoy.  Innovative new features include a section on the site called Fashion Dash where registered shoppers will be offered timed sales on today’s hottest trends and in the stores, Just in events, will present shoppers with new merchandise on a regular basis.

“We are redefining the off-price market by launching the web site and our new store concept, Last Call Studio,” said Last Call Senior Vice President Managing Director, Tom Lind. “The Studio stores will offer branded, current season, on-trend product direct from the market at a great discount at an in-town location; and the e-commerce site will provide the same experience with a combination of product from our post season merchandise from Neiman and Bergdorf as well as our off price merchandise we have sourced specifically for Last Call.”  I had a chance to chat with the Fab-u-lous Gabrielle de Papp who is the VP of Corporate PR and she gave me a mini tour of the store before everyone arrived and she put together some great looks that would look super at the office or on a dinner date.

A few gems I found:

  • Designer Shoe booties for under $200 (I bought the miss sixty ones pictured below)
  • Designer sunglasses (Gucci, David Yurman, D & G) for $99
  • Designer small leather goods for under $100
  • Laura Mercier Body Creme Trio for $40
  • Juicy Couture Fragrance Sets for under $60
  • Marc Jacobs handbags at $299
  • DVF wrap dresses for $199

The two new Last Call Studio stores will open in Rockville, Maryland on November 12, 2010 and Paramus, New Jersey on November 19, 2010. Everything in the new stores will be 30% off through Monday!
