I love hearing about clinical skincare lines that are formulated for specific ethnicities. If you were not aware, pigmented skin does require specific care which may or may not be able to be achieved with traditional skin care lines. To that end, I have discovered a new line that I LOVE called Specific Beauty. SPF protection, hyper-pigmentation and dull looking skin are always issues that need to be addressed when it comes to multi-hued skin, this line addresses all of those and more.
The creator of the line is Dr. Heather Woolery-Lloyd, an award-winning board certified dermatologist and internationally renowned lecturer. She specializes in treating women with “multi-hued skin tones,” which she describes as the range of tones including tan, olive and brown skin.
The Rundown:
- Daily Gentle Cleanser – an ultra gentle cleanser designed to maintain and replenish the skins’ natural hydration.
- Exfoliating Cleansing Cloths – dual-sided to carefully exfoliate the skin, while providing a deep clean to remove impurities, all without the need to rinse with water.
- Daily Hydrating Lotion SPF 30 – daily moisturizer that provides broad spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays with SPF 30.
- Night Treatment Complex – lightweight skin brightening formula that helps improve skin texture while you sleep.
- Skin Brightening Serum – a special multi-benefit complex of licorice, antioxidants, retinol and niacinimide – to provide the skin with the ultimate brightening benefits.
The line ranges in price from $6.99 to $24.99 and available at www.specificbeauty.com. For more information on Dr. Heather Woolery-Lloyd visit www.thedermablog.com.
