Remember when I was doing NutriSystem last summer? Well I was kinda disillusioned with most of the food that I got because the majority of it (well half of it) was pre-packaged and not very tasty – I LOVED the fresh frozen items but when I ran out of those I would LOATHE having to eat the other stuff. Now that NutriSystem has come out with the Success program (The one that Janet Jackson has been pushing), the pre packaged items have been reduced even further (very cool). The premise is, you have fresh frozen items, Chef Inspired foods that are also frozen, a smidge of the pantry items AND protein shakes. Now that I can get with. I have been walking approx. 2-6 miles daily since August so I am starting to crave smaller portions and while I am doing okay on my own, my main issue is that I don’t eat enough (or I eat sporadically) which is not good. I have already lost about 20 lbs just from walking (exciting!!). So when I saw the ads with the new food I reached back out to them. So, NutriSystem has agreed to sponsor me during my slimdown as part of their blogger nation program. I’m up for it though, because I have been in change mode for the past 8 months or so.
Just a little background, I have never had a problem with my weight EVER. In fact, I was a size 6 pretty much all my life until I had my son – after that I kind of settled at a size 8-12. Well, I’m no spring chicken and as we all know….as you get older your metabolism changes and pretty soon that 12 turned into a 16…..so my goal is to lose 50 and get back to the 12, but honestly I will be happy with whatever I get. Now that I am traveling so much for work, I definitely have to make an effort to make the right choices which is hard. Sometimes my meals at these events consist of small nibbles (nothing you actually use a fork to eat) and cocktails which sounds like fun but if you do that a few nights a week then it’s bound to take it’s toll.
So, I will be doing my Turbo Jam and other at home DVD’s as a part of my fitness program in combination with the walks I have already been doing. When it gets really cold – I can go to the rec center and swim until it gets warmer. I will be blogging and posting videos once or twice a week so you can see my progress. Who knows, maybe you will be inspired to take the plunge. It is DEFINITELY not as expensive as some of those other meal services (I did one once that was about $88 a week – this is approx $279 per month so this is a big difference).
Check out their site and check out all the great yummy food options!
Disclosure: Nutrisystem is providing their food and program to me free of charge in exchange for blogging about my experience as part of the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Nation. The opinions are my own and others experiences with Nutrisystem may vary.
