Fight The Power: Anti Aging and How to Rid Yourself of Adult Acne with Skin Ceuticals, Embryolisse and iSClinical…

Okay, so come of you may not recognize my Public Enemy song reference (one of my old school faves) but I’m DYING over here!  I never thought that at 44 years of age (almost 45, mind you…) that I would have issues with any kind of acne.  My skin has ALWAYS been good, I take vitamins, I exfoliate I have never had any acne problems at ALL to speak of.  Then this year, my hormones went CRAZY, and I mean CRAZY.  It would seem that in EVERY photo that I took from this previous fashion week, my giant volcano of a pimple on my chin…now forever immortalized was center stage and looking for a close up.  I did lessen the appearance and pain of said cystic volcano pimple (with some FAB products from the fab Mario Badescu but more on that later this week).  So basically, this got me thinking that I needed an arsenal to literally “fight the power” of my hormones and this ridiculous teenage like spurt of acne…I think I found my trifecta.  As soon as I got back from NYC, I raided my beauty closet looking for my answer. In order to keep your skin clear, you need to literally exfoliate on a regular basis BUT you also have to stay moisturized so you don’t dry out.  I prefer something on the light side so you don’t get overly hydrated.  At any rate…here’s what I have been using for the past month and bye bye acne.

The Rundown:

Embryolisse Crème Exfoliante (Exfoliating Cream) From the amazing line of gorgeous moisturizers comes an exfoliator that is designed to delicately treat the surface of the skin removing dead cells, respecting its natural balance.  A luxurious cream with exfoliating micro-beads that gently resurfaces, soothes and nourishes the skin with vitamins E and F.  This one has fine grains like powdered sand but isn’t drying at all.

Skin Ceuticals Blemish + Age Defense This is an all time favorite of mine.  My son was having acne problems last year and this cleared it right up without drying his skin out.  I started using this regularly this year.  It is a targeted, oil-free approach to treat adult acne and signs of aging. This 1st-to-market acid blend combines 2% dioic acid with an optimal alpha- and beta-hydroxy acid formulation designed to prevent the formation of acne, minimize hyperpigmentation, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

iSClincal Youth Complex This breakthrough anti-wrinkle formula is a unique blend of potent antioxidants, innovative natural hydrators, and their exclusive Innovase Bio-Complex. Youth Complex provides rapid initial hydration for plumping fine lines and wrinkles, promotes controlled exfoliation and is clinically proven to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. This is a lightweight fluid that is the perfect weight to keep skin hydrated without overly moisturizing.

This is my trifecta for the moment and I am excited to have found something that has rid me of the terrible awful……

Skinceuticals Blemish + Age Defense may be suitable for acne prone skin conditions, although I have found a great alternative compared to SC’s vitamins C serums.  The company is Cosmetic Skin Solutions which provide highly effective vitamin C formulations!
