i love popcorn, can’t grow my nails to save my life, wish I had something to do on Saturday nights besides wait for SNL to come on, love Thierry Mugler Angel, default to my hair off my face, usually in a clip, live in heels(they alleviate pressure on my neuroma just like Kelly Ripa), have 200 shades of the same peachy bronzy nude lip color from every brand under the sun, and my favorite thing is hair that smells good!

  • birdie & bijou

Ahhh perfume junkie here. Re-discovered and re-obsessing over Thierry Mugel’s Angel as of late…

What’s the best foundation for women of color that will blend dark spots with their skin. Also how can you bring out your eyes behind glasses.

  • Lianne

    Hey Tabathia (pretty name BTW!)

Best foundation to blend dark spots is CoverFX Total Cover Cream foundation (it comes in a compact) best way to bring out eyes behind glasses is simplicity. Stick to one or two shades in neutral tones and add tons of mascara (not so much that your lashes are bumping against the lenses but you want them to stand out!)

  • Lianne

Start with an eye cream to reduce puffiness that has caffeine in it (Bobbi brown makes one – search here for the review) OR use my trick of pressing cold spoons (put them in the freezer) against your eyes for a few minutes, it will take the swelling down. As for covering them, use a salmon based concealer (peach counteracts blue-ish grey tones in the circles) Eve Pearl has a phenomenal one called salmon concealer :-)

I part my hair in sections and use Sea Breeze on a cotton ball and place it all along the part. 😀

NARS and Hard Candy Plumping serum (MAC lipglass gets an honorable mention!)

  • Lianne

Wash your hair as little as possible (I know it sounds gross but the oils in your hair are a great frizz tamer). Use some dry shampoo and wash a few times a week instead of every day. Don’t rub your hair with a towel either, it roughs up the cuticle. I also use an ionic blow dryer that has made all the difference in the world.

  • Lianne

1/4 c kaolin clay, 1 TSP of lemon juice, 1 TBSP of honey, 1 TBSP of baking soda, 2 TBSP of water, 4-6 drops of tea tree oil. Mix in a plastic bowl add more water (if necessary) to get it to desired consistency. Clay draws out impurities, lemon juice brightens, honey is an anti-oxidant, baking soda exfoliates, tea tree oil dries up acne.

  • Lianne

Protective styling has always worked for me (braids, weaves etc) in general, put as little heat on your hair as possible and take supplements like biotin and selenium (or Phyto hair vitamins)

  • Lianne

Sleep on your BACK, use a good skincare regimen, take off your makeup EVERY night

  • Lianne

Any kind of thickening/volumizing shampoo will do the trick (I like Avalon Organics, it’s inexpensive and smells great, Herbal Essences is also good!!) and as far as eyebrows – I like a waxy pencil if you know your going to get wet (like swimming, Maybelline Eye Studio Master Shape Brow Pencil is great)) otherwise I use Lancome Le Crayon Poudre which is a powdery pencil. Both stay on all day.

    xo Lianne

  • Lianne

Quick and easy for me is NARS multiple on cheeks, mascara, brow pencil, lipgloss and mascara (if I didn’t NEED to do my eyebrows i’d drop that step!!)

  • Lianne

I really like L’Oreal Youth Code Day/Night cream. It’s really nice and not greasy…..

  • Lianne

This is my mommy’s signature scent! She loves it and has been wearing it for years. I love it, smells chocolatey floral!!

  • Madeline

  • Adreanna

I think popcorn is the best thing that has ever happened to this world :) haha Long nails drive me crazy, I cant have them to long or else they just brake. On saturaday nights im uasually home reading or watching tv. or cathcing up on homework (life of a college student), but at least I get a cute cat to snuggle by :) My go to hairstyle is down and curly, or up in a high messy ponytail. I only have 1 perfume, its Juicy. But ive been saving up to buy a new one. Does anyone have a good suggestion?

What is the best way to treat adult acne? I think acne will haunt me forever.

  • Kathy H.

With the cold weather that we’re having I used a leave in conditioner in my hair so it doesn’t get dry from the cold, wind and indoor heat!

  • LilyBiscuit

I’m searching for a great under eye concealer. Which do you recommend for serious coverage and brightening? Thanks!!

  • Lianne

    Hey Lily,

Hourglass makes a GREAT one that covers VERY well. I also love Eve Pearl’s Salmon concealer if you have grey-ish blue circles. The color really zaps the dark circles….

  • Lianne

    Me too!!
