Review: Rimmel London’s Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation…

I love a foundation that feels lightweight but offers nice coverage. So as part of the #StayMatte Challenge – I put a tube of Rimmel London’s Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation [$5.49] to the test! For one week I wore only this to test it’s overall wearability.

Before

It’s pretty creamy and glides on perfectly….I used a brush but you could use your fingers too. The brush just gives you a more airbrushed looking feel.

After

The texture is a bit drier so I think it would be perfectly suited for the all too humid summer months here in DC (anything matte is my best friend from June to September!!)  It comes in 8 shades (not a huge shade range in my opinion as the darkest one is nearer to my NC44 complexion…nothing darker).  The shade I tested was called Sand..

Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Sand

A feather light, oil free formula with an airy mousse texture that won’t feel heavy or greasy. Delivers all day shine control and blends flawlessly for a natural looking matte finish. Minimizes the appearance of pores. The weight is over – finally, shine has met its matte.

The Rundown:

  • Light Porcelain
  • Light Ivory
  • Ivory
  • True Ivory
  • Soft Beige
  • Classic Beige
  • True Beige
  • Sand

I wore mine all day and loved the wear (lasted all day).  The shade was slightly too light for me BUT as far as the formula goes, it’s a home run.  Also – I feel like this would be GREAT for oily skin but maybe not so much for drier skin.  I would wait to use this in the summer when humidity and slippage/melting is an issue BUT be careful and watch your skin to make sure you moisturize so you don’t get drier.

Bummer I will have to pass on this since they dont offer a color below Sand. Sand looks wayyy to light for my NW43 complexion

Yeah the shade range is not where it needs to be right now. Hopefully they will correct that in the future..
