Red Carpet Beauty: How To Hair by Wella Professional – Zoe Saldana at the 2012 SAG Awards…

The gorgeous and always fashionable Zoe Saldana never disappoints on the red carpet! tonight at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, her hair was styled by Mara Roszak for Wella Professionals.

“Zoe’s dress was so inspiring. I wanted to create a “not too perfect” up-do by adding texture and movement to the hair, while keeping it modern and fresh.” – Says Mara Roszak

The Rundown:

Apply Wella Professionals Extra Volume Mousse to wet hair and rough dry
Then, using a 3/4″ barrel curling iron, add waves to the hair by rotating the direction of the curl
Once the whole head was waved, spray Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz on the hair to break up the wave and add texture
Loosely pull the hair back into a low pony and secured it with an elastic
Then split the pony into two sections and braid them both, then wrap the braids into a bun and secure with bobby pins.
Once the hair is up, apply a dab of Wella Professionals Bold Move styling paste to fingertips and define a few pieces around the face
Spray all over with Wella Professionals Stay Firm finishing spray

Kristen Wiig who was, nominated for ‘Bridesmaids’ for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture at tonight’s Screen Actor’s Guild awards looks amazing on the red carpet! Dove Celebrity Stylist Mark Townsend shares his tips for achieving these red carpet looks, on and off the red carpet. Mark used products from the NEW Dove Style+Care collection. The products are slowly rolling out on store shelves now, but will be available nationwide March 1^st. Mark shared with TMG how to get Kristen’s hair look at home in a snap.

The Rundown:

“I really wanted Kristen’s hair to be up in order to show off her amazing Fred Leighton choker and Balenciaga gown. I gave her a deep side part and pulled her hair into a low chignon, creating a silhouette that has a hint of 20s, but the texture keeps it completely modern.

To get this hairstyle I started by applying the new Dove Style+Care Nourishing Amplifier Mousse to her hair and blew it dry with a round brush.
Next I sprayed Oribe Dry Texture Spray all over before pulling the hair into a low chignon and secured with bobby pins.

Red Carpet Beauty: Emma Stone at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards…

Actress Emma Stone who starred in the film “The Help”, looks AMAZING on the red carpet last night and I LOVE her Lanvin dress!! Very edgy and unexpected. Her hair was lovely too and was styled by Mara Roszack for Matrix.

Inspiration: To complement her striking Lanvin gown, stylist Mara Roszak wanted Emma’s hair to emulate that same edgy and effortless style. Staying away from anything too romantic, the rougher texture was key in achieving the goal of the style – a strong feel while remaining feminine.

Step by Step How-To:

Starting with wet hair, applied MATRIX Total Results Amplify Foam Volumizer
Rough dried hair to extenuate natural texture
Used a 1” barrel curling iron to touch up natural wave
Took a dab of MATRIX Total Results Curl Contouring Lotion to tame any extra frizz throughout the hair and give it a bit more definition
Pulled hair back loosely letting the front of the hair and pieces around the face fall out.
Twist ends of hair and pull back to create a loose, messy chignon in the back, letting the front of the hair and pieces around the face fall out
Once hair was back and pinned, began dropping the hair into the messy bun shape, pinning and wrapping each piece individually
To secure the style, used BIOLAGE Freeze Fix Hair Spray

Madonna looked AMAZING tonight at the Golden Globe Awards in s STUNNING Reem Acra gown. Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist Andy LeCompte has provided his inside scoop on styling the pop icon with Wella Professional for her win on tonight’s Golden Globes Awards.

According to Andy, “Madonna wanted easy natural texture hair.”

“To start, I rough dried her hair manipulating and emphasizing her natural texture. Next I applied a mist of Wella’s Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray to protect the hair from thermal heat as well as give the hair a slight bit of texture. I spray this before I use my FHI platform 1 inch flat iron to make soft S formations, giving the hair a natural wave texture. Then finish with a mist of Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray. One of Andy’s fave product, he says “I love Wella’s Ocean Spritz to break up the texture.”

TMG Faves: Eufora Urgent Repair Shampoo & Conditioner…

I am much more particular about what kind of shampoo/conditioner I put in my hair these days. What do I meant by that exactly? Basically, I try to seek out products that are kinder and gentler to the environment and in turn, to my hair. Honestly, ever since I have paid more attention to this, my hair has never been in better condition AND it has been GROWING like weeds as well. Since I color my hair, I am always on the lookout for products that will help me keep that fresh fron the salon look longer….Eufora delivers 100%. Drugstore Diva: Clairol Nice ‘N Easy Color Blend Foam Hair Color [PICS + VIDEO]……

If you are a Drugstore Diva, like myself….you like to find ways to save money AND look good at the same time. One way like to save money is with at home hair color. I have tried MANY over the years and none have made me happier than Clairol Nice & Easy Color Blend Foam [$8.99]. See my FAB Before and After shot below….

There are several reasons WHY I love this hair color – the most basic one being that it’s really cool technology. Foam is not a liquid, gas or solid but combines the best parts of all three. Also, another plus for me is that it 100% does not drip. I am used to color getting everywhere – not this time. The foam was very easy to control and collapsed into my hair EVENLY. The color is rich and has a lovely tone to it so it doesn’t look flat. You absolutely DO need to wear the enclosed gloves because the color will stain if left on your skin too long.

The Rundown:

Here are some helpful tricks and how to’s

Put on the professional colorist gloves provided (you MUST do this as the color is pretty potent)
Pour the colorant, bottle-1, into the foamer bottle containing the developer, bottle-2
Replace the cap and just give the bottle three simple shakes to mix contents. The formula mixes easily. (Do NOT overshake!!) *
Replace the cap with the innovative foamer top. The first squeeze is a preparatory step to start the foaming action. This may produce some non-foamed liquid, so squeeze into palm of gloved hand and discard on paper towel/tissue. Product should remain a liquid in the bottle; foam will form when squeezing into the hand.
Replace the cap with the foamer top and squeeze the foamer bottle to create a golf ball size dollop of foam in the palm of the hand.
Work into hair from roots to tips, using fingertips for precise application.
Leave on hair for 25 minutes or the amount of time indicated by the strand test. Foam will collapse into a liquid, penetrating hair.
Rinse hair thoroughly until water runs clear and apply the ColorSeal Conditioning Treatment.
Rinse and style hair as usual.

*TIP: Shaking the bottle more than three times to mix may cause the bottle to fill with foam, and cause the foam to dispense runny. If this happens, do not apply. Allow mixture to settle for 30 seconds, then squeeze the foamer bottle lightly 2-3 times until high quality foam is dispensed. Holding bottle horizontally while squeezing will cause runny foam to be dispensed. Be sure to keep the bottle upright while using. (I found this out the hard way and had to start over!)

My results were BEAUTIFUL! I went slightly lighter and love the shade. If you are a brunette, it as been my experience that the shades pull a bit dark. So if you normally color your hair dark brown DEFINITELY go for a medium. Dark brown made my hair look nearly black. For reference the shade I wear is 6.5 G which is lightest golden brown. Nice & East Color Blend foam comes in 18 shades to choose from as well!
