Oh my GOODNESS. This collection is HUGE (the hugest collection I have seen since Antiquitease) If you have never seen a MAC holiday collection, it’s usually pretty expansive with loads of limited edition items that run the gamut. All of them are pretty….there are so many offerings you won’t know where to send your wallet first. A Tartan Take certainly doesn’t disappoint…as there are several new shades and repromotes from classic collections (Hello….Heatherette!!) I’m dying over the little plaid tins, lipglass kits, wristlets and pigments!! These make FAB inexpensive gifts for friends (Or yourself….LOL)

Fall 2010: MAC Venomous Villains Collection for Disney…

Who doesn’t love a good villain? I certainly do and the Disney villains are quite possibly the best ever. The evil queen keeping the princess away from her prince, the horrid queen poisoning with tainted fruit. They are all here…Love love love them all. I will say this….without a doubt this is quite possibly the most BEAUTIFUL MAC collaboration I have seen to date (yeah, it’s like that). MAC’s Venomous Villains Collection for Disney is a gorgeous, richly hued fantasy come to life. The packaging ALONE makes this an instant collectors item. I have SO many favorites there are literally too many to list…

Nothing says fall quite like a little plum and a smokey eye. As regular readers know, right around this time of the year I start waxing nostalgic for sweaters, boots, smokey eyes and hot chocolate (not in that order of course…) This season, Bobbi has taken the sooty runway smokey eye from the fall shows and made it wearable for everyday. My faves here are the creamy lip color and the shadows that you can drop in the pans and make your own palette…the combinations are endless.

Summer 2010: MAC Dare to Wear Collection with Lady Gaga…

This abbreviated collection (much like the 80′s themed C-Shock collabo with Eve back in 2007) is deeply rooted in a mix of 80′s and pop icons. For this collection, MAC goes to Pop Art and the inimitable Lady Gaga for inspiration and comes up with some pretty awesome results. My stad out favorite is the Dare To Wear Lipglass. It is a full coverage gloss in a longer more slender tube (maximum color and shine in one stroke). The shadows are a makeup artists dream with richly hued shades spanning from lemony yellow to peacock and everywhere in between.

Fall 2010: NARS Fall Makeup Collection….

Ahhh Fall. Although it’s still blistering outside (my glasses steamed up when I went to get the mail yesterday…yuck!) I am thinking of cool shadows and cooler temps. One of my favorite lines, NARS….has come out with an unexpected but AMAZING collection for fall. Inspired by a theme Old Hollywood meets Futuristic…most of the shades are (with the exception of Daphne shadow named for his muse) named after colors from nature and objects that NARS covets.

NARS introduces its Fall 2010 Collection, which is an assortment of bright, matte colors and cool shimmering shades. The collection features François Nars’ muse Daphne Guinness in the campaign. I must say I am surprised at the amount of bright colors for fall but the combinations are GAWGUS especially the shadows. NARS is known for (and one of my fave things about them) their highly pigmented shadows so you know these colors are going to be insane.

Throughout his amazing career, NARS Founder and Creative Director François Nars has been inspired by “iconic beauties” whom, he says, “are larger than life, unforgettable and posses an elegance that’s timeless.”Perhaps no one fits that description better than Daphne Guinness, his mesmerizing muse and inspiration for the Fall 2010 campaign. Sexy, sultry, daring and decadent, Daphne “is the ideal icon to capture Fall 2010’s old-Hollywood meets futuristic look,” says Nars.

Get Daphne’s makeup look…

When it comes to describing fashionista Daphne Guinness, François Nars’ passion knows no boundaries. And when it came to designing and photographing this futuristic makeup look for Fall 2010, François created a look worthy of his leading lady.

Central to this ultra-sophisticated, ethereal look: A canvas of impeccably, smooth skin. Under Nars’ direction, Makeup Artist Kabuki primed the skin with line-erasing Skin Smoothing Face Prep, followed by a base of Siberia Sheer Matte Foundation and finally a light application of Snow Loose Powder. To contour Daphne’s complexion, he dusted Douceur Blush to the cheeks and blended it with the Yachiyo Brush.

To create scintillatingly dramatic eyes, Kabuki applied a coat of Smudge-Proof Eyeshadow Base, followed by a wash of Daphne Single Eyeshadow. Using the Wide Contour Brush, he built color and intensity along the outer eye. For brightness in the inner eye, he applied Mangrove Single Eyeshadow and lightly lined the top and bottom lashes with Nuits Blanches Eyeliner Stylo. Brows were defined with Ipanema Eyebrow Pencil. The look was finished off with two coats of Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara to both the top and bottom lashes.

The pièce de résistance: Daphne’s lips, stained with Rouge Basque Lipstick and highlighted with Scandal Lip Gloss for ultimate shine and fullness.

Fall 2010: Lancôme’s French Coquettes Makeup Collection…

Oh Lancôme…..why oh why must you do this to me? My favorite makeup look ever is the “french girl” and this collection nails it to a “T” The subtle shimmer ion the inner corners of the eyes….the nude and dark lips. It’s all very divine and I cannot wait to try everything!

Confident, avant-garde and extraordinarily chic, the collection, French Coquettes, captures the spirit of the modern woman at the start of the 20^th century. Dreamed up by artistic director Aaron De Mey, the collection harks to signature hallmarks of French glamour. Summer 2010: MAC In The Groove Collection…

Color color everywhere!! MAC’s latest for summer is called In The Groove and baby I am grooving!! This is a great collection with a mix of muted and bright shades that mix pop with bohemian. One thing that I ADORE the most about MAC are the Mineralize Skinfinish Powders, they impart a beautiful glow to the face without making you look all glittery (hate that…). The biggest LOVE of this particular collection is that one of my all-time favorite shades, Stereo Rose is being re-released [Limited Edition GoldPlay]. I have a few stockpiled but I have seen them on eBay for ridiculous amounts of money. It is a universally flattering shade so GET ONE.
